Five things you need to know about Root Chakra healing

Posted on April 28 2020

In these times we are living in, we are seeing all of the existing structures and systems fall apart.  As the earth goes through her healing process, A lot of the systems, ideas and identities that we depended on, that supported us and gave us our sense of identity and stability seem to be bucking under pressure.

This is not limited to financial or tangible things like job could also be relationships falling apart...and also the routines and rituals that we clung to daily.  Many of the distractions that were a part of our life have been taken away and are forcing us to look at ourselves and our lives in a way that we never have before.

These times shall pass, but the world will never be the same - and that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Unbalanced Root Chakra?

The Root Chakra, is the first chakra and deals with safety and security and covers life’s basic needs.

With a balanced Root Chakra, you feel secure and grounded in the world and have no problems meeting the basic needs of food, shelter and safety.

An out of balance root chakra results in feeling disconnected from the world around you, experiencing anxiety, fear and trouble with finances.  An out of balance root chakra can also result in difficulty accepting change, anger and impatience with people around you.

Many of us are experiencing root chakra challenges  whether we realize it or not - as many old is being ushered out of the way to make way for the new.

We can’t control how things will play out, but we can always be in control of our energy and how we choose to look at things and the world around us.

Root Chakra balancing tips

Here are 5 of my favourite tips used to heal the Root Chakra and help you feel a little more grounded in these times.

Root Chakra meditations

The Root Chakra vibrates at 396 Hz.  Listening to tones and sounds that vibrate within this frequency band is a wonderful way to heal the Root Chakra.  There are great Root Chakra meditations on Youtube and even Spotify that you can listen to during a meditation, or even falling asleep.

Earthing is standing or walking on the bare earth or grass barefoot.  Standing on the earth barefoot connects you to the energy field of the earth through your feet and is a great way to heal the root chakra.

If you have a backyard, you can walk on the grass or the earth barefoot and recharge your energy field through the root chakra

Eat Beets

Beets and other root vegetables like radish, and sweet potatoes are a great way to heal the root chakra.  I personally love juicing beets with other healthy fruits/veggies like lemon for the solar plexus, tumeric for the sacral chakra and apples for taste ;)

Root Chakra stones

Some root chakra stones that support the Root Chakra are  Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz and Red Carnelian.  You can meditate with these crystals while listening to your Root Chakra meditations, or keep your root chakra stones on your person in a small little pouch.

Carry a totem or grounding piece of jewelry

Carry or wear an object (eg. Root Chakra necklace or bracelet) that is associated with revitalizing the Root Chakra as a manifestation anchor.  A manifestation anchor is something that helps you to prepare and anchor the energy of what you want to manifest in your life by serving as a reminder of the life you envision for yourself.
