May New Moon Ritual: Earth Air Fire and Water: Manifesting with the Moon

Ancient shamanic practices have always incorporated the four main elements of Nature in many of their spiritual practices...Earth, Air, Fire Water...all elements which are a part of our genetics.  If indigenous practices appeals to you, here is a New Moon ritual that incorporates the four elements with the energy of the New Moon.

Required for this ritual:

One of each of the following elements:

🌑Earth:  a crystal, bones, rocks, salt or even dirt
🌑Air: A feather, incense or smudge 
🌑Fire:  A candle
🌑Water:  Water in a bowl, sea salt or seashells

Set up your ritual space

Activate the fire element by lighting the candle.  Activate the air element by lighting the sage or incense.  If you are lighting sage, you can use the sage to cleanse your ritual space, as well as yourself.  

Set the earth, water and crystal elements anywhere in your ritual space that pleases you. 

Meditation - connect to Divine

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center your energy.  Take some time to reflect on the past month and what you would like to call into your life.  Ask yourself what you would like to call into your life at this time?  What is it that you would like to call into your life that excites and energizes you?  

Set your intentions

Write out on paper what you would like to call into your life.  You can write it however you feel called to write it...you can write it like a journal entry or letter, or in point form.  Writing your desires down is very powerful and a form of magic on it’s own.

If you like, you can recite your intentions out loud to the universe.  

End the ritual

You can burn the letter with your intentions by lighting it with the flame of your candle.  If you have used water as your water element, you can place the lighted letter into the bowl of water to extinguish the letter.  You can release the ash remains to the earth in whichever way pleases you - in a body of water, release into the air or on the earth.
